The Neurolosis Chamber is a special "tank" of fluids that serves as the spinal cord and nervous system for a space vessel. It allows specialized individuals direct interface with a ship's computer network and run them as though they extend from their own being.
In the RP I made this for, a reinvented character, Rukes entered one of six or so chambers like this throughout the Cardea. In the beginning it was absolutely mandatory that his presence be inside of one of these chambers for at least 12 hours of a cycle. Later on in the story, as more of the ship's functions begin turning on and automating, less and less time is necessary to be within the chamber-- Opening Rukes to gain personality and individuality.
I got the idea from an anime, Outlaw Star I think it was called. I cannot remember specifics, its been a long (very) time since I've seen it, but the concept of a user entering the ship's computer system is fundamentally the same.
I used pencils, colored pencils, and suprisingly very little ruler to get this done. The hardest part at first was getting the projection of the room...^-^;; Simple, but hard to start at first.
I forgot to mention it, but a user would enter the Neurolosis Network/Stream through the descending tube or...thingie seen at the top of the chamber....^__^;;
